I had the chance to sit down with fellow teacher and snake rescuer, Chayant for a conversation. Not like we don’t talk. This time, we wanted to share our conversation with the outside world. Both of us have spent years pulling snakes out of tricky situations—sometimes from tangled nets, sometimes from people’s worst nightmares. It was about time we shared our journeys, the lessons we’ve learned, and the absurd, heart-pounding moments that come with being on call for creatures that most people would rather not think about.
From our first rescues to the myths we constantly battle (spoiler: no, snakes don’t drink milk), this podcast dives deep into what it means to do this work. We talk about the sheer thrill of giving a misunderstood creature a second chance, the exhaustion of late-night calls, and the occasional moments of humour that help us get through it all.
For anyone who’s ever wondered what it’s like to walk this line between fear and fascination, between risk and responsibility—this one’s for you.
